| It's more than a team, it's a family. We are a family-owned and operated business. Those that are not "Burlands" are related through their passion and team spirit. We truly have a wonderful team. Come on in and meet them!
Larry and Helen Burland are the owners of Burland Jewelry Center, and play an active role in operations. They have a passion for the business and a passion for friendliness.
Larry Burland
Larry was born and raised in Chicago, then served three years in the Army. At the age of 25, he initiated his jewelry career in his Uncle’s jewelry store in Chicago, making him a second generation jeweler. His uncle by the way, is still operating in Chicago at the same location. After three years of working with his uncle, he moved to Arizona in 1970 and continued to build his jewelry expertise with an established wholesaler.
Larry is a dedicated husband and father, and loves to play golf and read in his spare time. When not golfing or reading, his other favorite pastime is to take naps.
Helen Burland
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Helen grew up in the South, then lived in New York City for 13 years before coming to Arizona. In NYC, she was a dedicated mother and a teacher for gifted children. Helen has four children, two girls and two boys. The two boys, now men, are important members of the Burland Jewelry Center team. The other two girls are in the arts – one is a playwright and teacher and the other is in TV production work.
Helen acts as chief designer and buyer for Burland Jewelry. She loves what she does, and you’ll probably agree after meeting her that it appears as though the favorite part of her job is meeting and talking with people.
When not in the store, Helen loves to play golf, specifically with Larry – which she says “is the sign of a strong marriage.” She also loves the theater and to read.
